KUALA LUMPUR-(AP) - Colombian President Andres Pastrana Arango ended a four-day state visit to Malaysia, leaving for India on Sunday night.

Pastrana, who was accompanied by his wife Nohra Puyana, departed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport after visiting a federal land development scheme in the southern state of Johor on Sunday morning.

During his four-day visit, the first by a Colombian head of state since diplomatic relations were established in 1987, Pastrana held discussions with Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad in Putrajaya, the new federal administrative capital.

Pastrana witnessed the signing of agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between Kuala Lumpur and Bogota.

The Colombian president also spoke at a conference jointly organized by the Asian Strategic and Leadership Institute and the Colombian Embassy and visited the Petronas Twin Towers, the world's tallest building.

On Saturday, Pastrana and his delegation visited an oil palm estate owned by plantations giant United Plantations Berhad in Teluk Intan, in the northwestern state of Perak.

Pastrana is seeking Malaysia's assistance to help Colombia plant oil palm on a large scale as part of an effort to rid the Latin American country of its cocaine-producing coca crop.
